TikTok invite sent to the wrong email

Your Business Center invite landed on the wrong email — and a wrong-address invite can’t just be reused. Here is how to cancel it cleanly and send a new one to the right address.

TikTok sends a Business Center invite to the exact email you enter, and it’s tied to the TikTok account on that address. If you typed a work address they rarely check, an old email, or an address that isn’t linked to the account they actually use, the invite goes somewhere they can’t accept it from. The fix is simple — but cancel the wrong invite first, or you’ll be left with two overlapping pending entries.

If your situation is actually …

Why the wrong address is so common

The invite field in Business Center accepts whatever email you type. It doesn’t warn you if that address isn’t the one tied to the TikTok account your teammate signs in with. So a work email, an old personal address, or an inbox they no longer monitor will all accept the invite and quietly hold it.

What matters is the TikTok account the person logs into. An invite sent to an address that isn’t linked to that account won’t surface in the right place when they sign in — and if they’re logged into a different TikTok account when they open the link, accepting from there won’t grant the access you intended. Invite the email tied to their working TikTok login, and have them accept while signed into exactly that account.

How to fix a wrong-address invite

Do these in order. Skipping the first step leaves a stale entry that causes confusion later.

  1. Confirm the correct email with your teammate

Ask which email is tied to the TikTok account they actually use — not a business-card address or a previous email thread. Get it from the source so the invite reaches a surface they can accept from.

Confirm: You have the email linked to the account they sign into.

  2. Remove the pending wrong-address invite

In Business Center → Users, find the pending invite for the incorrect address and remove it. You can’t edit an invite in place, so leaving it alongside a new one creates two conflicting entries.

    Where: business-center.tiktok.com → Users

Confirm: The incorrect address no longer appears in the Users list.

  3. Send a fresh invite to the correct address

From the same screen, invite the correct email with the role you intended and assign the assets they need. Your teammate must accept while signed into the matching TikTok account — not a different one they happen to be logged into.

    Where: business-center.tiktok.com → Users

Confirm: The new address appears as a pending invite.

Frequently asked questions

No. Remove the pending invite to the wrong address, then send a fresh one to the correct address. There’s no in-place edit.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly

Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.

Delvia is free on iPhone and Android. Keep a clear record of who has access to your accounts — and what to do when that changes — wherever you are.
