Troubleshooting

Fix something that broke

An invite never arrived, a change did not stick, or the permissions screen looks wrong — diagnose it here.

Check the account type and where access actually lives

Most Instagram access problems come down to two things: the account is not the type a feature requires, or the access you are looking for lives in a different Meta surface. Adding a team member, running ads, or granting partner access happens through the linked Facebook Page and the Business Portfolio in Meta Business Suite — not inside the Instagram app itself. So a permission that seems missing in the app is often just managed somewhere else.

Instagram also sits inside Meta Accounts Center, which links your Instagram and Facebook logins, so some settings and prompts bounce between the two. When something will not stick, confirm you are editing the right account in the right surface before assuming it failed.

Instagram access problems — common questions

Manage team access through the linked Facebook Page and Business Portfolio in Meta Business Suite, where you can assign Instagram access by task. Sharing the password is never necessary and is the main cause of lockouts — role-based access is the supported route.
