Troubleshooting

Instagram is connected to the wrong Page

Instagram linked to the wrong Facebook Page. Here is how to disconnect the current Page from your professional account and connect the one you meant to use.

Connecting to the wrong Page usually happens because the connection flow defaulted to whatever Page you had admin rights on, or you picked the wrong one in a list of similarly named Pages. Since an account links to just one Page, the fix is simple: disconnect the wrong Page, then connect the right one. The only thing to confirm first is that you have admin access on the Page you actually want.

Quick summary

You want the correct Page connected, but Instagram picked another. The fix is to disconnect and reconnect — just confirm you are an admin of the intended Page before you start.

Most common causes

  • The flow defaulted to a Page you also admin
  • Two Pages have similar names and the wrong one was chosen
  • An old Page from a previous project was still linked
  • You are not yet an admin of the Page you actually want

Quick checks

  • Confirm which Page is currently connected
  • Confirm you are an admin of the Page you intend to use
  • Check the Page sits in the right Business Portfolio

Swap to the correct Page

  1. Disconnect the wrong Page

Open the Instagram account's connected-accounts settings and remove the current Page link. One connection is allowed at a time, so this clears the slot.

Where: Instagram app → Settings → connected accounts

Confirm: No Page shows as connected.

  2. Confirm admin rights on the right Page

Make sure you are an admin of the Facebook Page you actually want. Only an admin's Pages appear as connection options.

Where: Facebook → Page settings → Page access

  3. Connect the intended Page

Start the connection again and select the correct Page. If it sits in a Business Portfolio, confirm it is the right portfolio so Business Suite visibility lines up.

Confirm: The correct Page now shows as connected and appears in Business Suite.

Frequently asked questions

No. Disconnecting only removes the link between the Instagram account and that Facebook Page. Your posts, followers, and content stay intact.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly

Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.

Delvia is free on iPhone and Android. Keep a clear record of who has access to your accounts — and what to do when that changes — wherever you are.
