Facebook Page Invite Not Received

You added someone to your Facebook Page or Business Portfolio, but the invite never showed up for them. Work through the three causes that explain almost every missing invite, starting with the most likely.

A "missing" Facebook Page or Business Portfolio invite is almost always one of three things: it went to the wrong email or Facebook account, it is waiting somewhere they have not looked (notifications, a different inbox, or the Business Suite invites screen rather than email), or it was sent through a method that needs them to be logged into a specific account. Confirm exactly who you invited and how before re-sending — that resolves most cases.

Quick summary

You want a collaborator to get the invite you sent, but it has not arrived. This is usually about where the invite was sent and how the person needs to accept it — not a broken Page. Facebook can deliver an invite by email, by an in-app notification, or as a pending request inside Business Suite, and people often only check one of those places.

Most common causes

  • The invite was sent to an email address that is not tied to the account they actually use
  • The invite is waiting as a notification or a pending request in Meta Business Suite, not in their email inbox
  • They were invited to the Page directly, but you meant to add them through your Business Portfolio (or the other way around)
  • The invite landed in spam, a promotions tab, or a secondary inbox

Quick checks

  • Confirm the exact email address or account you sent the invite to
  • Ask them to check Meta Business Suite → notifications or the invites area, not just email
  • Ask them to check spam and any other inbox they own

Symptom / cause

Match what your collaborator is seeing to the most likely explanation before re-sending anything.

What you’re seeingLikely causeWhat it usually means

They got an email but the link does nothing usefulThey are logged into a different Facebook account than the one invitedFacebook invites are tied to a specific account; clicking from the wrong login will not grant access.
You see the invite as "pending" on your side, they see nothingDelivery delay, wrong address, or they have not checked the right surfacePending on your side only means it was created, not that it reached them.
They were added but to the wrong thing (Page vs Portfolio)Page access and Business Portfolio access are separate grantsBeing added to a portfolio does not assign the Page; the Page must be assigned separately.
The invite shows as expired or no longer validToo much time passed, or it was revokedOld pending invites can lapse — remove the stale entry and send a fresh one.

If the issue is that they were added to the portfolio but the Page never appeared, that is an assignment problem, not a delivery problem — jump to the "can't see the Page" guide.

How to track down and re-send a missing invite

Work through these in order. The first two steps resolve most missing-invite cases.

  1. Confirm exactly who and how you invited

Open Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then People (for portfolio access) or the Page's access settings (for Page access). Find the pending invite and check the exact email address or name attached to it. Confirm that address is one your collaborator actually controls and signs into Facebook with.

Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → People / Page access

Confirm: You can see the pending invite and the address or account it was sent to.

  2. Ask them to check Business Suite, not just email

Facebook often surfaces access invites as in-app notifications or as a pending request inside Meta Business Suite, rather than (or in addition to) email. Ask your collaborator to sign into business.facebook.com with the correct account and look at their notifications and any "invitations" area.

    Where: business.facebook.com (collaborator's side)

Confirm: They can see the pending invite on their side and accept it.

  3. Check spam and secondary inboxes

If you sent the invite to an email address, ask them to check spam, the Promotions tab, and any other inbox tied to that address. Notification emails from Meta sometimes get filtered.

  4. Remove the stale invite and send a fresh one

If the invite is old, went to the wrong address, or simply will not arrive, remove the existing pending entry first — then send a new invite to the confirmed correct address with the role you intend. Leaving the old one in place creates duplicate pending entries that cause confusion.

Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → People / Page access

Confirm: A single fresh pending invite appears, addressed correctly.

If this fails: Page invite went to the wrong email

Frequently asked questions

It depends on how you invited the person. Invites can arrive as an email, as an in-app Facebook notification, or as a pending request inside Meta Business Suite. If email did not arrive, always check Business Suite notifications too.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly

Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.

Delvia is free on iPhone and Android. Keep a clear record of who has access to your accounts — and what to do when that changes — wherever you are.
