Page Invite Went to the Wrong Email
Your Facebook Page or portfolio invite landed on the wrong email or account — here is why that happens and exactly how to fix it without leaving a tangle of pending invites behind.
Facebook sends an access invite to the exact email address or account you enter. If you typed a work address they rarely check, an old email, or an address that is not the one tied to the Facebook account they actually use, the invite goes somewhere they cannot accept it from. The fix is straightforward — but cancel the wrong invite first, or you will end up with two overlapping pending entries.
If your situation is actually …
- They never received anything anywhere → Page invite not received →
- They accepted but still can't see the Page → Accepted the invite but still can't see the Page →
Why the wrong address is so common
When you invite someone in Meta Business Suite, the invite field accepts whatever email you type. It does not warn you if the address is not the one tied to the Facebook account your collaborator signs in with. So if you use their work email, an old personal address, or any inbox they no longer monitor, the invite quietly goes there and waits.
The thing that matters is the account they actually log into Facebook with. An invite sent to an address that is not linked to that account will not surface in the right place when they sign in — and if they are logged into a different Facebook account when they click the link, accepting from there does not grant the access you intended. The safest approach is to invite the email tied to their working Facebook login, and have them accept while signed into exactly that account.
How to fix a wrong-address invite
Do these in order. Skipping the first step leaves a stale pending entry that causes confusion later.
Confirm the correct email with your collaborator
Ask them which email address is tied to the Facebook account they actually use — not their business card address or a previous email thread. Get it from the source so the invite reaches a surface they can accept from.
Confirm: You have the email address linked to the Facebook account they sign into.
Remove the pending wrong-address invite
Open Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then People (for portfolio access) or the Page's access settings. Find the pending invite for the incorrect address and remove it. You cannot edit an existing invite in place, so leaving it alongside a new one creates two conflicting entries.
Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → People / Page access
Confirm: The incorrect address no longer appears in the access list.
Send a fresh invite to the correct address
From the same screen, invite the correct email with the role you intended. Your collaborator will get the invite and must accept it while signed into the matching Facebook account — not a different account they happen to be logged into.
Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → People / Page access
Confirm: The new address appears as a pending invite.
If this fails: Accepted the invite but still can't see the Page

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly
Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.
