How to give someone ads-only access on Facebook
Give one person ads permission only, without handing over the rest of the Page.
Is this your situation?
You want someone to run ads for your Page, without letting them touch posts, messages or settings. People with task access can create, manage and delete ads, and other ads-related tasks.
The short answer
Give task access and assign only the Ads permission type for the Page. Task access does not let someone switch into the Page or manage it on Facebook.
Before you start
- Confirm the Page is in a business portfolio Access to a Page in a business portfolio is managed from the portfolio.Verify: Check Settings for the Page under Accounts.
- Check your own access level You need full access to the Page or the portfolio to give access.Verify: Check that you hold full access.
- Know the permission you will grant Ads permission lets someone create, manage and delete ads for the Page.Verify: Check that Ads is the permission you select.
How Facebook handles this
- People with task access can create, manage and delete ads, and other ads-related tasks.
- People with task access can view Page, content, ad, and metric performance.
- People with task access can't switch into the Page or manage it on Facebook.
- Full access to a Facebook Page allows a person to manage all Page settings.

- Choose partial access Select partial access (business tools only) as the type of access to grant.Where: Add People → access typeConfirm: Check that partial access is selected, not full control.
- Select Ads only The Ads permission for the Page allows creating, managing and deleting ads for the Page.Where: Add People → access typeConfirm: Check that Ads is the only permission toggled on.
- Assign Click Assign to complete giving Page access to the person.Where: Add People → AssignConfirm: Check the Page's people list for their name.If this fails: Check that you still hold full access to the Page.
Common mistakes
- Granting full control instead of ads-only Full access to a Facebook Page allows a person to manage all Page settings. Why it happens: You pick the wrong access type at the assignment step.
- Expecting Facebook-side posting from task access People with task access can't switch into the Page or manage it on Facebook. Why it happens: You expect task access to act like switching into the Page.
- Granting access without full access of your own A person must have full access to the Page or full access to the business portfolio to give someone else access to the Page. Why it happens: You try to assign access while holding only partial access yourself.Already happened: If access could not be granted, audit who has access to the Page.
