How to Add an Admin to a LinkedIn Page

Add a colleague or agency as a Page admin without ever sharing a password.

Is this your situation?

You run a LinkedIn company Page and need a colleague or agency to manage it. You want to grant that access without handing over your login.

The short answer

A super admin can add another admin from the Page super admin view in Settings, under Manage admins. The member must be a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-degree connection to be added.

Before you start

  • Confirm you are a super admin Only a super admin of the Page can add another admin.Verify: Check your role in Manage admins.
  • Check connection degree The member can only be added if they are a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-degree connection.Verify: Search for their name in the admin search field.
  • Check for blocks A member cannot be added if the Page has blocked them or they have blocked the Page.Verify: Review your Page's blocked member list.

How LinkedIn handles this

  • Super admins can add Page admins and paid media admins through the super admin view.
  • Only one Page admin role can be assigned per person.
  • More than one paid media admin role can be assigned to a person.
  • Paid media admin roles can be granted without an associated Campaign Manager ads account.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming any connection can be added A member can only be added as an admin if they are a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-degree connection. Why it happens: The connection requirement is overlooked when inviting a new contact.
  • Trying to assign two Page admin roles Only one Page admin role can be assigned per person. Why it happens: Teams sometimes expect a person to hold two separate Page admin roles at once.
  • Missing an inactive Showcase Page Showcase Pages become inactive if there have been no posts on the Page for six months. Why it happens: Infrequent posting on a Showcase Page can leave it inactive without notice.Already happened: See recovering a Showcase Page after the creator left for next steps.
