How to delegate Instagram access through Meta Business Suite
Meta Business settings is the one place to add people to your professional Instagram account, choose their tasks, and manage everyone from a single dashboard.
Meta Business Suite (and the underlying Business settings) is the control panel Meta provides for managing access across Instagram, Facebook, and ads. For Instagram, it lets you add people to your portfolio, assign your account as an asset, and grant task-based access — all without touching the login itself.
Before you start
Admin access to the portfolio
Only admins can add people and assign assets.
Your Instagram added as an asset
Verify: Meta Business settings → Accounts → Instagram accounts.
Delegate access in Meta Business settings
Open Business settings
Go to your portfolio in Meta Business Suite and open Settings.
Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings
Add the person under People
Invite them by email and choose their portfolio-level access.
Where: Meta Business settings → People → Add
Assign the Instagram account and tasks
Open the Instagram accounts list, pick your account, and enable the specific tasks.
Where: Meta Business settings → People → Assign assets → Instagram accounts
Confirm and review
Check the assigned tasks are correct, then note a review date so access does not linger.
Watch out for
Adding the person but forgetting to assign the asset
Portfolio membership alone gives no Instagram access — you must also assign the Instagram account with tasks.

Granting ad tasks without ad account access
Running ads usually needs ad account access too — set that up on the Facebook side.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly
Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.
