That separation surprises people: being signed in to TikTok does not sign you in to your Shop. Seller Center has its own staff roles and its own partner model, and treating it as just another part of your TikTok account is where access confusion starts.
A separate system with a separate login
Seller Center is where you manage products, orders, fulfilment, and payouts for a TikTok Shop. You sign in to it directly, and that login is distinct from your TikTok app credentials — even if you used the same email to register. This is the single most important thing to understand about Shop access.
Because it is separate, Shop access is not granted through Business Center the way a TikTok account or ad account is. Seller Center has its own way of adding staff and authorising partners, which is covered in its own pages.
How Shop access is structured
A TikTok Shop has an owner — the account that registered the Shop and controls its login — plus scoped staff accounts that the owner or an admin invites to handle specific areas like products, orders, or customer service. Staff sign in with their own accounts and see only what their role allows.
Separately, a Shop can authorise a partner or service provider — an agency or app that works on the Shop without taking over the owner login. As with the rest of TikTok, that partner authorisation grants operational access; it does not transfer ownership of the Shop.
