Common mistakes

  • Trying to add a user from a sub-account Only the shop owner account can add users. Why it happens: A sub-account lacks the permission to open User Management's add-user function.
  • Submitting without a role selected At least one role is required for any user. Why it happens: The pop-up requires a role before it accepts the new user.
  • Assuming the wrong role was already permanent An invitation can be deleted before the invited user activates their account. Why it happens: The invite stays changeable, and removable, until the user activates it.Already happened: If a role was already acted on, see removing a TikTok Shop user.
  • Assigning a role without reviewing its permissions There are currently eight pre-set roles available. Why it happens: Roles differ in scope, and the wrong one grants too much or too little access.
