TikTok agency access checklist

Treat an agency engagement as something that has a clean start and a clean end. The work you do at setup is what makes offboarding painless later — so a few minutes now saves a scramble when the contract ends.

Before the engagement starts

• Confirm your own business owns the Business Center that holds your assets
• Decide exactly which assets the agency needs — specific ad accounts, the TikTok account, the Shop
• Decide the lowest role that lets them do the work
• Add the agency as a Partner in Business Center — never share your login
• Confirm ownership of every asset stays with you, not the agency

During the engagement

• Keep a record of which agency people were assigned to which assets
• Review the access at the engagement mid-point and trim anything unused
• Run any Spark Ads through authorisation codes rather than handing over account access
• Keep billing and payout control on your side, not the agency’s

When the engagement ends

• Remove the agency Partner from Business Center
• Check that no individual agency people are still assigned to your assets
• Remove the agency from each ad account’s user list
• Remove any agency staff from Shop Seller Center
• Revoke any Spark Ads authorisation codes you shared
• Confirm all assets, billing, and payouts remain wholly under your control
