How to Give Access to Your TikTok Ad Account
Grant a role to a member or partner from Business Center, scoped to the ad account you choose.
Is this your situation?
You need someone else to work in your TikTok ad account without handing over your login. You want to grant the right level of access and know what each role can do.
The short answer
To request access, select Admin or Operator access permission and click Submit. An email notification is sent to the ad account owner for approval before access takes effect.
Before you start
- Confirm you are a Business Center admin A user must be a Business Center admin to request access to ad accounts.Verify: Check your role under Business Center Users tab.
- Have the ad account ID ready A user must enter the ad account ID when requesting access.Verify: Ask the account owner for the correct ad account ID.
- Check the account is not disapproved A user cannot request access to a disapproved ad account.Verify: Check the ad account status before requesting access.
How TikTok handles this
- Admin access lets a member manage ad account finances, settings, and permissions.
- Operator access lets a member manage finances for ad accounts.
- Analyst access allows viewing ads and performance data only.
- Once approved, the requester can grant others access to that ad account from their Business Center.

- Wait An email notification is sent to the ad account owner asking for approval after the request is submitted.Where: Business Center → Accounts → RequestConfirm: Check for a confirmation that the request was sent.If this fails: Ask the ad account owner to check their Notifications page.
Common mistakes
- Requesting access to a disapproved account A user cannot request access to a disapproved ad account. Why it happens: You assume any listed account is open to new requests.
- Not a Business Center admin A user must be a Business Center admin to request access to ad accounts in their Business Center. Why it happens: Admin role can request TikTok account access, but Standard role cannot.
- Approval never arrives If an individual user created the ad account and does not belong to any Business Center, the requester must ask that creator to accept the request in TikTok Ads Manager. Why it happens: You expect the request to resolve on its own without contacting the creator.Already happened: See TikTok ad account roles explained for what each role can still do.
