How to Give Full Control of a Facebook Page
Give full control to a trusted person without losing your own access to the Page.
Is this your situation?
You want someone else to manage a Facebook Page with full control, not partial access. You need to know what that person will be able to do once you give them this level of access.
The short answer
A person must have full access to the Page or full access to the business portfolio to give someone else access to the Page. In Meta Business Suite, assign the person full access when giving them Page access.
Before you start
- Confirm your own access level You need full access to the Page or the business portfolio to grant this.Verify: Check Settings in Meta Business Suite for your access level.
- Confirm the person is in your portfolio In Meta Business Suite, you can assign Page access to someone already in your business portfolio.Verify: Check the People list in your business portfolio.
- Request an invite if needed If not in the portfolio, you can request they be invited and given Page access.Verify: Check whether the person needs an invitation first.
How Facebook handles this
- Full access lets a person manage all Page settings.
- Giving someone full control gives them the same access as the person giving it.
- A person with full control can remove anyone from the Page, including the person who gave them access.
- At least one person with full control must remain, or the Page is deactivated and scheduled for deletion.

Before you change who is in control
- Giving full control without realizing the scope Full control gives the same access as the person granting it.Why it happens: The access level is not distinguished clearly enough before granting.Already happened: If control has already changed hands — Reclaim a Facebook Page From a Rogue Agency or Employee
- Being removed by the person you added A person with full control can remove anyone from the Page, including the original grantor. Why it happens: Full control can give the person you added the same ability to remove others.Already happened: If this happened, review how to recover admin access to a Facebook Page.
- No one left with full control If no one has full control, the Page is automatically deactivated and scheduled for deletion. Why it happens: You notice access problems only after the last full-control person is gone.
