How to disconnect Instagram from a Facebook Page

Need to unlink your Instagram from a Facebook Page? Here is how to remove the connection, what changes when you do, and how to reconnect later.

Disconnecting is reversible, but it does turn off the business features that rely on the Page link — and it can affect ads tied to that pairing. You can remove the connection from the Instagram settings or from Meta Business settings. Know what depends on the link before you cut it, then reconnect the correct Page if you only needed to switch.

Before you start

  • Admin access to the account and Page

You need control of both sides to change the link.

  • Awareness of what depends on the connection

Ads and some business tools may stop until you reconnect.

Disconnect the Page

  1. Open linking settings

From the Instagram app settings, find the connected Page section.

Where: Instagram app → Settings → (Account / Business tools)

  2. Remove the connection

Choose to disconnect the Page and confirm.

Confirm: The profile no longer shows a connected Page.

  3. Reconnect the right Page if needed

If you were switching Pages, connect the correct one now.

If this fails: Instagram is already linked to a Page

Disconnect mistakes

  • Disconnecting while ads are running

Active campaigns can be disrupted. Pause or migrate ads first if they depend on the pairing.

  • Assuming it deletes data

Disconnecting does not delete posts or the account — it only removes the link.

Frequently asked questions

Your Instagram content stays. Some Page-linked reporting may change, but disconnecting does not erase your account.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly

Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.

Delvia is free on iPhone and Android. Keep a clear record of who has access to your accounts — and what to do when that changes — wherever you are.
