How to Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page
Link your Instagram and Facebook Page to cross-post and manage messages in one place. Here are the ways to connect them — and what to do if it won’t link.
Connecting Instagram to a Facebook Page lets you publish to both, run ads across them, and handle messages in one inbox. The connection is made from either the Page’s settings or Meta Business Suite. The single most common blocker: your Instagram must be a professional account (Business or Creator) — a personal Instagram account can’t connect.
If your situation is actually …
- Your Instagram is a personal account → Why Instagram must be a professional account →
- It refuses to link at all → Instagram won’t connect to your Page →
Before you start
Your Instagram is a professional (Business or Creator) account
Personal Instagram accounts cannot connect to a Page. Switching to professional is free and reversible.
Verify: Instagram app → Settings → Account type. It should say Business or Creator.
You have Full control of the Facebook Page
You need Full control (or Admin via the portfolio) to make the connection.
The Instagram isn’t already linked elsewhere
An Instagram account can only be connected to one Page at a time. Disconnect the old link first if needed.
Connect Instagram from Business settings
Open Instagram accounts in Business settings
In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings and open the Instagram accounts area.
Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → Instagram accounts
Add and log in to the Instagram account
Choose to connect an Instagram account and sign in with its credentials. This adds it to your portfolio.
Confirm: The Instagram account appears under Instagram accounts.
Link it to your Page
Associate the Instagram account with your Facebook Page so they’re connected for publishing, ads, and inbox.
Where: Meta Business Suite → Settings → Instagram accounts → connect to Page
Confirm: The Page and Instagram account show as connected.
If this fails: Instagram already linked elsewhere
Common mistakes
Trying to connect a personal Instagram account
Personal accounts can’t connect. Switch to Business or Creator first, then link.
Why it happens: The connect option appears even though it will fail for a personal account.
Already happened: Why Instagram must be professional
Forgetting it’s already linked to another Page
Instagram connects to one Page at a time. Disconnect the existing link before connecting elsewhere.
Already happened: Instagram already connected to another Page

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly
Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.
