YouTube Permissions Not Showing in Studio

The Permissions tab is missing or shows the wrong options in YouTube Studio. This usually isn’t about whether you’re on a Brand Account — the panel exists on every channel — so here is how to find the real cause and fix it.

YouTube Studio → Settings → Permissions exists on every channel — personal Google Account or Brand Account — so a missing or limited panel almost always has a different cause: you are signed in with a role below Manager, you are on the YouTube Studio mobile app instead of desktop, or your channel is a Brand Account still on the older "Manage permissions" screen that routes to myaccount.google.com. The fix depends on which of those it is.

Why the tab looks wrong

  1. Q1

Is your channel on a Brand Account?

    No / not sure
That is the cause. Move the channel to a Brand Account to unlock multi-user permissions. Move a personal channel to a Brand Account
    Yes
Confirm your own role is Manager or Owner — Editors and Viewers do not see the invite controls.

Frequently asked questions

On some channels, permission management is handled at the Brand Account level rather than inside Studio. That routing indicates a Brand Account channel using the older permissions model.

Access issues are easier to prevent when roles, owners, and responsibilities are recorded clearly

Most access problems trace back to the same gap — no clear record of who has access, what role they hold, and what should happen when that changes. Delvia helps you keep that record so problems are visible before they become incidents.

Delvia is free on iPhone and Android. Keep a clear record of who has access to your accounts — and what to do when that changes — wherever you are.
