Common mistakes

  • Expecting Editor to manage permissions The Editor role cannot manage permissions. Why it happens: Editor and Manager roles are sometimes confused.
  • Expecting Editor to delete published videos The Editor role cannot delete the channel or published content. Why it happens: You expect deleting a draft works the same way for a published video.
  • Sharing a password instead of inviting Granting channel permissions is safer than sharing a password or other sensitive sign-in details. Why it happens: Password sharing feels faster than setting up roles.Already happened: See password sharing risks if a password was already shared.
  • Assuming Editor can delete live streams The Editor role cannot delete scheduled, live, or completed streams. Why it happens: Live stream deletion feels similar to draft deletion, but it is not.
